Cover for 24’ Tradewind 24’

Hi all,

Does anyone have any advice re buying a cover for a 24’ 1963 Tradewind, please? It must be breathable, waterproof (or at least very water resistant) and have a soft inner lining that won’t scratch the trailer. The cover will be used while the trailer is kept outdoors over the winter. We are based in the U.K.

Thanks in advance

Cover for Airstreeam

Well, most folks will tell you not to use a cover on your Airstream. The thinking is that it will damage the finish. Having said that, there is a company that makes very fine custom fitted covers for Airstream and several folks have reported great results using that cover. I believe the cover is a "Calmark" brand cover. Expensive, yes. They have you take very detailed measurements so the cover fits snuggly. Look them up. Should be somewhere south of $1,000.

For many years during the 1990's I restored mid 1960's Ford cars. Complete frame off restorations and some fairly expensive paint jobs that were all base coat/clear coat finishes. I always ordered up a custom fit outdoor cover made of a fabric called "Noah" from California Car Cover Co. These cars sat outside in all 4 seasons in southern Ohio. Hot/cold/snow/ice/rain/wind/etc. You get the idea. Never had any damage and won several awards at car shows.

It is your Airstream and if you want a cover, Calmark is the company to call.

Please keep us posted.

Thank you very much.

We’re in the U.K. so not sure we can get that brand, but I’ve even two brands (Pro-tec and Specialised Covers) that make bespoke caravan covers.

Not sure if anyone in U.K. uses one of those for an Airstream?
