Airstream/RV Storage south of York, PA
We recently moved back to Maryland from central Pennsylvania. While we would normally park/store the Airstream at our house, we moved during peak housing market insanity this summer. Because I didn't want to make an offer above asking, forego a home inspection, etc., we decided to rent an apartment. While we're waiting to see if the housing bubble bursts (or deflates), we'd like to store our '67 Overlander close enough for weekend camping. Any recommendations on RV storage around the Mason-Dixon line/I-83?

Hi
It's not just finding someplace that does storage. Most places around here with indoor storage have a wait time of a year or three for a spot .... ( ... three year wait for $600 a month .... yikes ....).
Given the issues with ice / snow / hail / meteor shower ... I'm a big fan of getting the RV under a roof.
All that said, if you are ok with outdoor storage and want to drive this far ( another hour), there may be space available.

The Overlander has been sitting outside for years. While I'd love to put it under a roof that's likely will wait until we buy a house and scrap together the cash to build a storage bay. I've long joked with my wife that my dream is to have a shop three times the size of our house. Until housing prices normalize, that's on the back burner. I don't mind driving 45 minutes to an hour to get to the Airstream, if it's the general direction we're camping anyway. We like some of the Eastern PA campgrounds (like Codorus) so I'm focusing my search around there. Thanks, Bob.

If it was me, my first call would be to the local small town airport manager, asking who might have a hanger with space they are not using. The second would be to the planning department, asking who has empty warehouses.

This is perhaps farther than you want to travel, but there is a dedicated RV storage place with indoor parking next to the Glen Burnie light rail shop. You can see it from Interstate 97.
Cheers,
John

I appreciate the tips. As a Montana native, nothing in Maryland seems "far," at least not to me. Glen Burnie is just around the beltway from our current abode, but storage under roof will likely be more than I'd like to pay and it's "out of direction" since most of our camping will be in Pennsylvania. The airport hanger idea is interesting and not one I had considered. For the right price, it might be a winner. Thanks again.
