Airskirt

Hi, wondering if anyone has bought and used one of the Airskirts from www.airskirts.com and if you could provide performance thoughts, capabilities, and limitations. Thanks -

I was thinking of getting one for my 16 but I’m not quite sure the rear bumper is strong enough to mount an outboard engine.

The Airskirts is a neat idea. It could be a real plus for those who camp in colder weather.

No doubt this would help keep out cold winter air especially with the tire wedge. I was trying to think of something to use I would probably wrap my valves with heat trace for dumping and maybe put an electric heater underneath for below zero nights! I see alot of people using reflective bubble wrap on windows and in closets too. I might have to get this thanks for the link!

Best purchase I have made

I am a full time RV’er and live in the great Pacific Northwest. I was looking for a way to skirt the underneath of my Airstream Flying Cloud 23FB without introducing materials which could damage the aluminum. I came across several forums on the best way to skirt an Airstream and found information on everything from styrofoam and duct tape to PVC pipe and vinyl. I wanted something simple with an easy set up. Then I found AirSkirts - they were perfect! The day I installed them, my neighbors came to investigate. No one had seen anything like it. My set up took me about 40 minutes because I wanted to position them perfectly. I had to readjust a few times. Once in place, I decided to check out the temperature inside. I felt an immediate thermal retention in my trailer. It was 41F outside, and I had the heat set to 66F. Three hours later, and I am still warm and cozy. I consider my purchase an investment. If interested - I found a reference code for $50 off that can be applied with other programs they offer - REF22

Cool (!) idea. I too camp in the Pacific NW in the winter, not full time though. Sometimes when it is windy, it is a chore to keep the interior warm. I bet this would help a lot, also for keeping the tanks and plumbing warmer.

By the way, we love camping at Fort Stevens near you.

That look like a perfect solution. i am a skier and would like to take my Bambi 22FB on extended trips in interior BC...thanks for the tip! Is there anything else you do to prevent the tanks and anything else from freezing? Maybe a small radiant heater underneath?

I saw these demonstrated at the international rally two weeks ago. Looks like a great product.

Tarheel1972 put these to the acid test by overwintering in NW Indiana. His last post on the subject, “insulated and heated tanks “ was in mid February. At that time he was still a believer.
