2008 17ft Bambi Sport

We recently bought the 08 17 ft AS and it is time to winterize it. The user manual has information on the 19, 22, etc but does not have information specifically for the 17. Interestingly, the 17 seems to be it's own animal.

I finally found the low point water valves (right by the hot water tank under the front couch.

But there is absolutely no access to the water pump! It turns out it is under the sink, back in with the gas heater.

I winterized by draining all the water and then using compressed air via the city water input but decided I needed antifreeze in the lines.

But the only way I could do this was to add a couple of gallons of AF to the fresh water tank, bypass the hot water tank, and use the pump to push the AF through all the lines.

I sent multiple forms for support to AS at their website and never heard back.

Any better ideas on how to winterize when you can't get to the pump at all?

Thanks in advance.

Hi from AZ. . . I had that AS & it definitely seemed like an 'orphan' trailer.. . On the AS website, it's not even listed. . . for 2008 ! I thought this was the perfect one person trailer, with a GREAT bathroom, kinda wish I still had it. . . Sounds to me like you had the right idea for winterizing, but I'm in AZ, so we don't have to. . . good luck, Craig

i have a safari sport 2008....i put antifr.in potable water tank and run it thru the lines...then drain it all and blow some air into city water connection...the valves near the hot water tank once open let all water and antifr.out..also drain the pot.water tank....i also cover the very top of the as with a heave plastic witch i weigh down with flat stones, some tape ,so i can easily remove the snow..in spring, all is o.k.
i think you did the right thing...M.V.
