Questions about wheel wells of 1950 Liner

The first is a steel hook on both sides of the camper, on the front of the wheel wells. They seem to be original but not sure what they were for.

The second is what looks like mounts for covers on the wheel wells. You can see one set of holes in the photo above with the hook. Both sides have three sets of holes; one in the center about 2 inches from the bottom of the fender, then one on each side. Each set of holes is 3 holes, top and bottom are small and center is larger. On two of the sets, there is a bracket with screws in the top and bottom holes with what looks like a larger screw sticking out. Both are really rusted so can't be sure. Picture of the wheel well below with the three sets of holes, left and center with the brackets. These are a little hard to see.

Any information on these would be great. Thanks,

I think the hook is for a tire jack so you can jack the trailer to repair a flat. The other thinks are probably for a canvas wheel cover for use when parked and I don't know if that was OEM or not but I doubt it.

many 1950's AS had plates that cover the wheels. you figured the jack out on your own.
You wheel wells were widened I suspect...

We have stock (or at least they appear to be) fender skirts on our '51 FC, but they're just held on with screws bored right into the outer skin--whatever was there on yours looks much more intricate. Otherwise, the shape of our wheel wells looks just like yours.

Thanks again everyone.

Calais66,
Do you happen to have a photo of your fender skirts? Just gathering all the photos I can of size and placement of items.

Here you go. Kinda fuzzy, but the best I have. I'll get some better photos next me I'm at the trailer.

BTW, I have a '66 Caddy with fender skirts as well, and the bottom hook that secured them in the wheel well looks a lot like the hook in your photo above. I'm guessing there was a skirt there.

Thanks for the photos. That gives me the shape of the covers. I also love those half moon hubcaps. I plan to find some for our 1950.

Here's some detailed photos of the skirts. Identical on both sides. Again, they're only attached to the shell via screws (not brackets). Hope these help!
