Powerjack foot falls off

I’ve only used my airstream about 6 times and my Powerjack foot is falling off. I’ve tightened the bolt that holds it on a few times by hand, but it seems like it shouldn’t be super tight, because that would force the foot to be perpendicular. Most of the time.x my power jack is NOT perpendicular with the ground, so it seems like that foot should have some play to allow it to be non-perpendicular. What should I do to get this back to spec, and also make sure I don’t lose the foot somewhere down the highway.

Mine is permanently detached. Always been that way. Don’t have a bolt to hold it on.

I take the foot with me in the back of the truck. Has plenty of play to match contour and can’t fall off on the highway. Just have to remember it on the checklist.

My jack's foot was put in the recycle bin before I even installed the jack. I've been using an aluminum cone jack support and find it to be quite easy to use, especially since it limits the time I sit there waiting for the jack to go all the way down.

When we got our first trailer 18 yrs ago, per backup camera, the dealer gave us a tongue twister. Put it down as we lower the jack. Used it almost every time hitching for side to side adjustments before we got a truck with a backup camera. Still place it down to rest the jack. Sometimes it is just easier to shift the hitch an inch or so.

Okay, Richard, now you've got my attention. Do you use something iike this for your hitch foot rest?

I currently carry 8" x 8" x 2" treated/untreated pine boards and they get heavy; but they do let me change height to suit locations. This cone at link is 8" tall and weighs only 2 lbs. It just seems too easy but would like to switch to something like this if it works. Does anyone know any downside to using one?
Thanks and sorry if I've 'highjacked' this thread.

I've been using the Fastway Flipjack for about 5 years. Works great for me.

Drill a hole thru the jack and foot and use a hitch pin to hold it in place
Oversized the hole if you want some flex in the foot

I used one of those at first. It worked fine, but then I discovered these:

You can read about them and get info for contacting Deb to order one in this thread:

https://www.airforums.com/forums/f45...d-17280-4.html

The screen name for Deb is DGK and she's listed her contact info in the thread.

I found the aluminum stand to be much better than the plastic - the base is wider and the whole thing is rock solid and sturdy.

Fixed Foot

My power jack foot fell off while driving within the first year of my buying the AS used. I ordered a replacement and put some LocTite on the bolt when I attached it. No problems over the last 30,000 miles.

I do try to get my Lynx Levelers approximately level before lowering the jack foot.

Powerjack foot falls off

We lost our Powerjack foot early this month. I called the Powerjack Company and ordered a new foot, lock washer and bolt. I used blue Loctite on the bolt before install.
