We have a new toy and would like to replace tires, the "manual" says there are jack points behind axles. But we can't find the jack placement. please advise, 1977 31' sovereign.

Welcome to the forums!

The easiest and safest way to change tires on a dual axle trailer is to roll one tire onto a ramp and then remove the one in the air.

If you need to jack, the mounting plate for the axles would be my choice.

You have tandem axles. The easiest way is to drive it on top of some kind of ramp. use 2x6's or car ramps or something simular. Drive on the ramps leaving two wheels on the ramps and two in the air and remove two at a time. loosen lug nuts before you drive on the ramps.

Note that there are two sets of 2 X 12's here - the blue, white, and green angled "ramp" section can be removed after the trailer axles are positioned on the green rear section.

Driver's side has an identical set.

The white object just to the rear of the bottom 2 X 12 is a 2 X 4 that is perpindicular to the length of the trailer. This 2 X 4 is anchored to the concrete drive. I use this 2 x 4 as a stop to prevent the "ramps" from skidding back as I raise various vehicles on the ramps.

As richard says use the axle mounting plates if you want to jack it up. DO NOT DO NOT jack under the axles itself it will damage the axle tubes and ruin the axle.

Those jack points listed in the owners manual, are for stabilizing jacks, not lifting jacks.

Easiest place to lift the trailer, is by placing a javck between the tires and on the axle mounting plate.

However, the safest, when time is not an issue, is to use a couple of 2 x 6's for a ramp for just one of the tires, as others have posted.
