vice grip

Just get a large enough vice grip and attach that to the end of the post and spin the handle around to go up or down. There is nothing special about that tool.

I bought mine from my AS dealer and tossed it in the toolbox to have on hand when necessary.

If it has a square configuration like the Barker jacks, then a twelve point 7/16” socket attached to 12” or longer extension will allow turning jack screw without taking propane tanks off trailer. The “included” handle from Barker was so short it would only do 180 degree swings before hitting propane tank enclosure.

Atwood makes two different configurations of the handle crank. Make sure you are getting the right one!

Check your slow blow fuse which is located in the power line just below the power jack. The connection works its way loose and pops open all by itself. Make sure the fuse is not blown. I had mine come apart, and when there is no connections, the power jack does not work. A simple 30 cent part. A jack handle will cost you $35.00. I also purchased one for a backup and also a box of fuses. NAPA Auto parts stocks the fuses. AS will charge you an arm and a leg for the same part. NAPA is also cheaper than Amazon. As I remember the fuse is a 15 amp SLOW BLOW fuse.

The fuse looked the light on the jack works I think the fuse is 30 amp. Airstream just provided me with the socket not the crank handle when I took delivery of the trailer. When I put the socket on my drill it won't turn the nut.

Before you buy anything, take a look at the jack in your tow vehicle. When my Barker jack stopped working, I found that the jack handle in my 2012 Toyota Tacoma used the same size square fitting as the Barker.

This might not help you now but, we just got our new AS and they supplied a manual crank handle with the purchase. You said yours was a 2017.

We also did not receive a crank for our Atwood jack. The first “slot” head crank that we purchased appeared to be the correct one, but the socket was slightly too large to enter the opening in the jack. I subsequently purchased a socket head that fit. If any members purchase a crank, ensure that it fits the jack before tossing it into the tool box.

Now I called an RV repair man to check the switch on the jack hopefully that's all it is.

Colonial shipped my jack handle to me plus a half dozen slow blow fuses for the atwood. Good to have since I’m on my third new jack on my 2016 FC.
