Lubrication of Power Jack
While reviewing the owners instructions relative to replacing the up/down toggle switch I noticed this statement. "Once a year, the powerhead should be removed and a liberal amount of grease applied directly to the coupling on which the drive pin rests".
It seems like it is important (the once a year statement) but it certainly is not an easy thing to do if you need to take the head apart. Does anyone do this?

The cover comes off easily. On mine remove 2 screws and the top cover comes off. No need to remove the entire head motor/drive assembly.

I would also extend the jack to its max extension, clean the tube and apply some grease. Run the tube up and down then clean any excess grease off.

The cover does come off easily, with two screws, but there is no access to anything that needs to be greased. Is yours a Barker?

I, too, have replaced the toggle switch and limit switch. I greased the easily seen plastic gears at that time, but the manual seems to imply grease is needed lower on the motor somewhere. I'll watch here for others' experience and wisdom.
I do use silicon spray on the extended jack tube.

I called the Screw Jack manufacturer to inquire of lubing the jack-screw itself.
I was told that the screw did not need lubing, that it was "Life-time" lubricated. (HUNNH! The life of the jack??? How long is that?)
She did say to extend it all the way and spray the exposed shaft with silicone lube.
(EVERY jack screw needs lube at some time.)

If mine is any example, they last three years. It blew last Friday, replaced the shaft this morning. It's a sealed unit, so you can't lube the worm gear or nut. Mine just made a grinding noise and collapsed. I notice the new shaft had a light coating of white grease on it when it came. At least I was in a campground where I will be staying a while and not in transit when it failed...
