Husky Super Brute 5000 Problem
I recently installed a Husky Super Brute 5000 on my 2019 AS Sport 22. The problem I am having has been the jack will only run when connected to shore power and occasionally when connected to my F150 (while running). I have gone through all the problem solving solutions in previous posts. The battery is fully charged, I have made sure the battery terminals and connections are clean, I have taken the paint off the A frame to improve the grounding of the jack plate to the frame. Still the jack will not work on battery power alone. Is the battery not powerful to run the jack? I also have a Zamp portable solar outlet connected to the battery terminal. BTW after installing the jack, I also began having a problem with my tank indicator lights no longer functioning. Any other things I should be looking at to address this problem. In advance thanks for any suggestions.

kmclaren,
Do you have a multimeter?
Can you measure the DC voltage at the power connection to the jack, trailer battery power only, connected to tow vehicle and finally connected to shore power.
And at the same time raise the tongue and observe voltage.
What I'm hoping you'll see is variations in 12VDC power supplied to the jack and then folks can start to chime in with ideas.
And you state batteries are fully charged, have an actual voltage reading?

Tip #1. Do NOT open the lid on the Husky jack expecting to see anything.
You will destroy the silicone bead and the inside is so packed with ribbon cables and circuit boards you can't even see where the power comes in.
What you describe sounds like low batteries. You might get a good reading with a meter, but that's just a surface charge, when a load is applied the voltage drops. When you plug in, you have the converter supplying power.
If they are the wet cell Interstate batteries, try a hydrometer to check cells specific gravity. Or take them to Interstate battery to check with a load.

The SB 5000 may just need more poop than the battery can supply, (is the 5000 needed for the '22?)
Disclaimer...we use a 5000 for a 1200lb TW.

I wonder if your battery has gone bad. You might take it to a auto parts store and have it tested.

Hi
Best guess is your batteries have issues. They could be dead, the wiring could be loose ....
First step (if they are flooded cells) is to check the cells for fluid level. Top off with distilled water as needed.

I would love to hear what the issue was once resolved. This is the first negative thing I have heard about the Super Brute.

Just putting this out as data I recorded not a diagnosis. I recently installed a BMV-712 and I tried several DC loads to see current draw.
8+ yr old Husky 4500 vs a 30’ Classic S/O with a pretty darn heavy tongue weight.
Amp draw to raise trailer only 6.4 amps.
Gas furnace 9 amps.
Took more current to run fan in the furnace than to raise a 1000#+ trailer tongue.

UPDATE After further diagnostics the problem was the battery. The original Interstate battery has been replaced with a Lifeline AGM battery, problem solved. Thanks for the input.

I looked at the SB 5000 for my '76 30' Excella 500. Even that seemed like overkill. Picked up a 3500lb Harbor Freight unit for $100. Works fine and I'm, you know, cheap, lol.
