Help, can’t find jack fuse

I have a 2020 Flying Cloud 25FB with a Barker Mfg VIP 3500 jack. A family member reversed direction on the jack too quickly and I believe the jack fuse blew. I have a 30A, 250V slo-blo fuse to replace it, but I can’t find where it is.

The cable back from the jack to the spare tire all seems more slender than a fuse. Right near the tire is a bulged area that *might* be fuse-width but is encased in heat-shrink plastic I’m loath to cut open. I don’t see a fuse holder anywhere along the line.

Any tips? Thanks so much.

Precipice,
The bulge area is probably the fuse. Tongue jacks are wired directly to battery with the fuse inline between jack and battery. If you have a 12v test light you can confirm power. First check if you have a light on the jack, see if it works, if it does there is power to jack and no need to unwrap fuse to test.

Awesome, thank you. Light on the jack is also not working.

I had a '16 flying cloud, and now a '19 International Serenity.

Jack fuse on both were/are inside the battery box.

Also, on my units, there is/was no unwrapping to get to the fuse. It's a typical twist/push lock.

My 2007 Barker jack has no fuse. The jack is wired directly to a 30 amp self resetting circuit breaker at the positive buss.

Well, I figured it out. We had a solar/lithium install done and they took out the batteries from the battery box. The jack fuse was under the bed with the lithium batteries.

So, advice in general: look for the jack fuse next to your batteries, wherever they are!

Thanks for all the help.

The bulge you found is probably where they spliced the wire. Just keep in mind that the jack wire is small gauge, probably no larger than 12 ga. and has no protection from the fuse back to the battery or battery buss. If you relocate jack fuse or breaker to feed directly from the buss, you eliminate any small unprotected wire that could start a fire if shorted.
