Electric jack button - no way to lock it?
We live in a full-time park for now (3 months) and bought our Flying Cloud 3 months ago. From the start I was a bit concerned that there is no way to lock the jack button and anybody walking by can potentially play with it and cause major damage. I may be a worry wart but that's exactly what happened when my grandson was visiting. He has to push every button he sees, typical boy I guess. Thankfully I was right there and stopped him. Did any of you install something or know of an easy fix to prevent this? Since we will be here for quite awhile I guess I could tape something over it just not sure what that would look like.

On mine, I have a fuse holder on the wire that leads up to the main unit. When I put the trailer in storage I raise jack and then take the fuse out. Voila!

Installing a battery disconnect switch inside a locked battery box or inside the trailer is another way to address this and other issues. By putting it between the negative terminal and the chassis ground it will disconnect everything in the trailer.

I experience the same situation!
I install a weather proof plastic box with a 30 Amp. switch in the cable power line from the battery.
Simple solution. See picture.

Removing the fuse between the jack and the batteries, as mentioned above, is probably the easiest way to disable the jack while still being able to use the rest of the trailer.

Don't know what brand of jack you have but ours ... a SuperJack ... has a metal cap that screws on over the jack switch ... we also cover the jack with a vinyl bag with velcro closures at the bottom, when camping and storing to protect the fact from the elements and curious kids. Removing the fuse is the easiest and sure-fire way to prevent meddling.

unplug jack
We have the same concern because we live near the local HS, and the kids congregate near our parked trailer when ever they have a fire drill. We made a modification inside the battery box that unplugs the jack from power. We only plug it in when we are going to use it. We also added locks to the battery box.

Most tongue jacks are wired directly to the battery, bypassing the Use/Store switch and any aftermarket battery disconnect switches. And the ground for the jack is the metal housing which bolts to the frame.
Which is why the fuse removal suggestions are good IMO. Just have to make sure you can find that small fuse later, or have some spares around.

Thank you all. Taking out the fuse sounds like the easiest way to fix this and a bag over the electronics to protect from the elements is the other good idea. Problem solved. I'm so glad this forum exists

Camping World has a vinyl bag jack cover for about $10. Cinch cord and very discreet.
