Best way to level & stabilize a '60

Just picked up a 1960 24 footer. The previous owners just used 2 jack stands and the tongue jack. I'm thinking there should be a way to mount jacks (to frame, bumper, or such) so we don't have to haul and use jack stands which don't really work well anyway.

Please educate me. 😊

I use jackstands, but I have considered getting a set of those BAL crank down type stabilizers and mounting them to the frame in the back. I know some folks have done that. Though the jackstands work fine for me. Sometimes I don't even use them.

I wouldn't trust the jack stands to level. You have to be careful where you place a jack when changing a tire due to the possibility of frame damage. Use leveling blocks instead - they're cheap, easy to use and quick. Then you can use the jack stands to stabilize the rig. Or you can by the stabilizers online and attach them to the frame (I think you can do this on a '60) - less hassle than the jack stands.

I use two Andersen Levelers. I rarely use the attached stabilizers as I am solo and usually do not need them. Never try to use the the stabilizers to lift or level the trailer. They simply are not designed to do this.

I welded 2 scissors jacks to the rear frame but welded perpendicular, wheel on front crank down , and no chocks. Yes it rolled backwards destroying the scissors. So....no front wheel, use 4 chocks and weld scissor jacks parallel to the frame. I crank mine with 19.6 volt drill with liberal synthetic oil on threads.
