A & E Leveling system lock-up ?

I have A&E stabilizers, front and rear on my 86 excella. They can be operated by external switches from the outside, or by a switch panel inside under the tv stand.
The problem; right curbside would not work on the outside, but did work from the inside panel. Went down about 6-8", then stopped cold. Now can not get it to return to the upright position.

I've checked the exterior fuse (buss type-50 amp) and it appears o.k. and also used it to work on the rear set just to be sure.
I have a hand crank, but it will not move the arm up or down. Seems almost frozen (it's 80 F here now), like trying to turn the wheel when the power steering fails on a large truck. I've soaked the worm screw appartus underneath with mystery oil and copious amounts of wd-40 to no avail.

One item of note: when it stopped, the lights behind the inside panel went out. Should I be looking for an additional fuse elsewhere ? There is no whirr or any sound from the electric motor when the switch is engaged.

I have no manual and the company (A&E) was sold, then this division went out of business. Any thoughts ?

It sounds like you have either a bad fuse elsewhere, or maybe a bad ground. Have you put a test light on the wire, and made sure you are getting power?
