Water Leak, what to do?
Hey all. We’re on our first camping trip of the season and it’s pooring outside. Noticing a water leak on the wall of the bathroom above the toilet. We have a 2020 Bambi 22FB. Bought it new a little over 18 months ago. Just took it out storage where it was inside for the winter. I think I remember seeing some water on the wall last season but dismissed it as spray from the toilet bowl. See video of the inside and outside. Water from the roof gutter goes down along that seam. Perhaps that’s where it’s coming in? At any rate, I assume I got no choice but to have a dealer look at it. Anything else I should try? Anyone has had anything similar on this model? All input welcome.

However, I remember noticing that there is no caulking in the cable pass through opening, around the cable. It surprised me but I assumed there was rubber gasket or something inside.
At any rate, that area is right above the leak so it would make sense that this would be the problem spot. Don’t have a ladder with me at the campground but will go up there to inspect, take photos and post them.

You are still under warranty. Have an Airstream dealer do a pressure test on your As, done from inside, then they spray soap solution into any openings used on the trailer. If there is a leak, they will find and seal.
We had a fixed, riveted window cause big leaks in our 2019 FC 25. Drove 1100 miles to Jackson Center to have fixed.
All good now! Good luck.

Topside Leaks
As I understand it, roof and sidewall leaks wind up on, or passing through, the floor. As I understand it, only in the last year or two has Airstream been manufacturing trailers with water-resistant flooring.
So, leaks must be attended to ASAP.
Delighted to hear there’s a logical way to suss out a leak.
(Just installed complete set of Window Poppers and two circuit-on-light-on switches from Window Popper Guy. Now we’ll know at a glance if step and outside area lights are on when we hit the hay or pack up to move on down the road.)
(Just installed MicroAir soft starts on air conditioners and awaiting MicroAir’s touch-screen thermostat replacement for Dometic’s multi-button CCC2.)

Be sure to check you gray & black tank caps. Mine disconnected from the vent pipe on our 2020 international. Caused leaks in the bathroom. If you carefully pour water directly into the vent and you have water issues...that’s the culprit. The vent cap would need to be removed, then siliconed onto the pipe to correct. If it is the vent, a 4” PVC cap from HD, Lowe’s etc. will fit right over the top of the vent cap temporarily, it will let in air and keep water out until you can fix it. ...just don’t drive with the PVC caps in place.

Seems to be a gap under the cable and no caulking inside that pass through. This caulking job won’t win awards. Yesterday, it was raining sideways. That’s likely how water entered as it doesn’t leak on every downpour. Straight rain fall just slips down the roof slope I imagine. Before going to the dealer, I’ll try plugging the gaps myself. Dicor, which is on my dealer invoice for this job, or Sikaflex? Thanks again.

That is quite a sloppy sealant job there. Type the word 'sealant' in to that search bar and you'll get all sorts of info.

I am a fan of Sikaflex. It works and is easy to come by, at least in the US. Amazon sells it. A cheap caulking gun is necessary. 3M sealant is available in tubes at marine stores ( https://www.westmarine.com/buy/3m--5...91?recordNum=1), so requires no caulking gun. It is a very good product, too.

Thanks. I bought some Dicor as this is what the dealer used originally when phishing that cable. I went with non levelling though as if you look at the picture I posted above, the cable pass through sticks out pretty high. Need something that’s going to stay in place before dryin. Question, is non levelling Dicor like regular window caulking? Once applied, should I shape it a bit with my fingers to make sure it’s covering everything?
