I don't know what brand it is, but I suspect it is a butyl based sealant. It is typically used where no sunlight can normally get to it. I have seen it used in the architectural metals industry as an in lap sealant and in automotive/truck body building as an in lap sealant or in between body panels and frames as a sound deadener. I have pried apart metal roof panels with this stuff in it and it is still gooey...even after 25 years!

I have used rope caulk which is used for caulking doors and windows. It is very plyable and fills irregular gaps very well. The package I have now doesn't tell me what it is made of but it doesn't dry up. I am thinking of using it to seal around the lower panels such as where banana wraps meets the frame. What do some of you use for that?
