Thanks Bob. You know how expensive those ss screws have become

Truly the bracket install screw locations and to some extent panel seams installs are all over the map. Hard to believe there is a width difference.

Btw, nice starry night image on the rock shield! Great mod.

. . .
These inconsistencies are all within what I meant by "quality control."

Every AS factory operation should be described in OCD detail in a manufacturing PPM [policies and procedures manual], in the same way that huge corporations have PPM's for all aspects of corporate and HR [human resource] operations IMO.

Historically AS probably never did this. Thus the inconsistencies noted above -- in this very-minor detail in just one model in one model year -- illustrate what happens when the factory assembly line workers area allowed to "wing it."

Speaking of winging it, have a great Thanksgiving!

I agree Peter this sort of stuff we all talk about is because there is no standard operating procedures at the factory. We had a end of year 2012 20 footer and Airstream installed 2013 appliances and if we went into other 20 foot trailers there were different ways the factory put together these units. I have to say however that our 2012 was less troublesome than our current 2019 23 International.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I had the same leak. We noticed it first heavy rain after delivery. I called Colonial and told them I didn't want to have to take it to them for repair. They sent me the caulk they use and told me to take one screw out at a time and fill the hole with caulk. Also told me to run a bead across the top of the rail. Took care of the leak.

My Dad was stationed at Camp Pendleton years ago and knew the area well. My parents lived in Oceanside in the 80s.
He is slowly getting around still and will turn 90 in February.
We were able to spend a week in August at San Clemente SB this year but now we go to Desert Hot Springs spa. Limited spa use but better than nothing.
