Plumbing Vent Covers

I was wondering about getting some covers for the plumbing stacks on my trailer. It seems to me that any water or snow melt on the roof will run down the outside of the plastic vent stack and maybe saturate any flooring or wall that it contacts, not to mention runoff that would ultimately end up in the enclosed underbelly.

Any other trailers I have owned have had covers on them, to prevent this. I have recaulked the outsides of the vent cover, I can see remains of screening that was covering them at one time, but its ok for water to go directly in there? Tell me I'm overthinking this!!!!

I don't know much about your trailer, but it seems logical that relying on some type of caulking (vulkem?) to waterproof the gap between the skin and the plumbing stack isn't such a great business plan. Adding the vent covers would be an easy and inexpensive bit of insurance.
