Mineral Spirits to Prep Surface

Just wondering if people recommend using mineral spirits to clean and prep the aluminium surface prior to sealing. I know specific products call for specific solvents, but im really trying to avoid having a collection of solvents.

Hi

Quick check for *any* solvent - put some in a (clean) glass. Leave it outdoors in the sun. Come back after it's all flashed off. See if there is a residue.

Mineral Spirits will work great for Dicor or Sikaflex. Denatured Alcohol for all others.
