Mid '80s Vista View insulated glass frame

I have removed vista view window from trailer. It is insulated glass that is encased in a u channel that is two halves. There is one rivet on each side of the two pieces on top and bottom. I have drilled the heads off but am concerned that driving the rivets out will contact the edge of the tempered glass. It appears that the glass may be wrapped with a rubber gasket that could protect the glass edge.

WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY INSIGHT. This window is not like those talked about so much in the forum from the 70's.

I have the unit apart now. FYI The window is in a u shaped gasket that you see the lip on each side of the window unit. What I thought were steel rivots were probably very rusted screws. I ended up grinding into the aluminum frame on top of the screw until I could see I was through the aluminum. I could see what was going on better with the slit from the grinder. There is a steel spline inside. I thought it would have been aluminum. The steel was also rusted. I was finally able to get the two pieces to start seperating using different screw driver blades. There was silicone all around the aluminum frame between the frame and gasket. The gray gasket had a couple of small holes with rust residue in that area. The insulated glass unit has a foil tape around the edge and the inside sealers is still tacky and soft. I believe this may be the same material that Four Seasons Solarium's used for about a year in the early 80's It was a total failure in a glass curve because of the pressure exerted in the curve flattened the sealer. If they had used sufficient silicone in the base of the aluminum frame I don't believe this unit would have failed.
Tomorrow I will try to find some flexible glass spacer locally. There is also a slight moisture stain inside the unit.(white tint) I may need to get some cerium oxide to polish this out before re-sealing the unit.
