Question Leaky roof, now repaired?

About to buy an Airstream, seller acknowledged he had had vent with fan installed, a leak appeared in two areas of the trailer, after much searching they discovered the new vent was incorrectly installed - had it repaired, no more leaks. However am wondering should one be cautioned about possible mold or mildew problems in the insulation??

Seams to me that leaks in used AS is just a fact of life, like in any travel trailer. Less of a problem and generally easier to fix than in many other TT, but still a fact of life. Mold and mildew is not something I have read about for small leaks but I guess if water got into the wood floor it could be a problem. Thank God AS never used the 'Chinese dry wall'.

I can tell you of our experience with a leaky roof. We have a 1988 Argosy that has had a leaky roof for, well, let's just say a while. We just purchased it and are restoring it. We just tore out the ceiling and some of the insulation was actually dripping wet. There really is no musty smell and I haven't found any mold at all (not counting the nasty tub).
