Leaks on 1973 29' Ambassador

Now I'm looking at a 29' Ambassador that in the pictures looks great. The owner says it has a few leaks in the seams and that this is not unusual for a trailer of this age. They also say it can be easily fixed with aluminum sealant.

My questions are for those who might know, are leaks like this common and are they easily fixed as the owner indicates?

Leaks are not uncommon.
Fixing them is easy.
Finding them can be a PITA.

The problem is that the leak is not always where you find it. Water will run along the inner skin and come out at a seam. Where it comes from is the hard part. Once located you can use the propper seal material, fix the leak and wait for the next one.

Gaskets, gaskets and more gaskets.

Seams are usually secondary leaks to gaskets.

Window gaskets, access compartment door gaskets, entrance door gaskets, ceiling vent cover gaskets, and the infamous and extremely short lived 95 years)sewer vent pipe cover gaskets.

Since you haven't bought it yet, check out the axles, too. If they are bad, the buying offer drops almost $2000.00.

Check the coach for rear end separation, as well. That can cost from a few hundred dollars to over $3000.00, depending on how severe it may be.
