Leak in AC drain tube?

If I have a leak in the AC drain tube, could that cause the bathroom floor to be wet?

Unless you have a center bath I doubt that that could cause a wet bathroom floor. Look for plumbing issues, check the toilet valve in the back of the toilet first. Just follow the cold water line to the back of the toilet.

Denda easy way to check the drain tube is to plug one end and blow into the other. No resistance it has a leak. If the tube runs down between the wall then I would think that it is possible. Going to the factory to get my relatively new trailer fixed. Guess is that they nicked the tube when they were drilling rivets.

Are you sure you even have a drain tube? My 73 just dumps its water on the roof and it runs down the outside.

Gearheart- I think you are right. We are thinking it may be a leak in the black water tank

Where is the floor soft, around the base of the toilet, under the sink. Is the hot water heater in that area?

The first thing to find out is the leak in the plumbing system or the holding system. Pressurize the water system with the pump and turn the pump off for an hour or so. Turn the pump back on. If the pump start the leak is in the pressurized system. If it hold the plumbing should be good.

If you black tank is below floor level it is unlikely that is the problem. If it is a raised tank and toilet that is different. Testing a tank is not an easy job.

If you want to tackle it you will need a hand air pump. A test plug for the for the drain that has a pressure gauge and schrader valve for the pump. Apply about 4 lbs of air to the tank and see if it holds. Make sure there is water in the toilet as a seal.

We have already had a crack in the tank repaired. We are wondering now if it cracked again.

Depending on how long ago the tank leaked that could have been the problem.

The floor material can hold water for ever especially under things not in the walk way. The factory plastic is on top of the rug under cabinets, shower, and beds and the rug never dries. Thus a time delay in the softing of the floor

The floor is not soft. There is just a little water seeping out from under the medal strip around the edge of the plywood floor under the toilet and sink. The only reason I noticed it is because I am putting down new carpet squares. It has a brand new toilet. It has not even been used yet.

How about a picture? Close up and back a few feet so we can see what we are talking about.

The water stains you see in the right side are old stains. The metal strip has been wet starting just to the right of the toilet and into that corner on the right.

Another place to look. Go outside and look at the seam between the top of the bumper and the trailer body. If there is sheet metal going under the edge of the trailer that seam leads into the trailer and can pass water to the floor. Generally that metal goes under the floor and cause rot from the bottom up but check that area.

I say this because you say the toilet has not bee used and thus I assume the black tank is empty. We need a source of water.

The black tank did have some water in it. Because the repair man had some in it to check his patch job on the tank.

Do you know how many gallons the black tank holds on a 1972 Argosy?
