Leak identification

Hi,
I have a 2015 27' Flying Cloud FBQ. Last weekend was using the camper in a rainstorm and noticed two areas of water intrusion. One was coming from the forward vent fan. There was dripping water on the bed, and on the fan, the droplets were on the ring around the screen. The other spot was on the seam of the interior aluminum panel near the front windows. See attached picture. Just a few drops coming from the seam.

Today, it is raining again, and i checked to see if there is still a problem. There is no drip from the fan area, no drip on the bed, but still a few water droplets coming from the panel seam. Earlier this week I looked for obvious issues around the fan and on the roof, but didn't find anything major. Also tried spraying areas on the roof with a garden hose and nothing obvious happened. So whatever leak there is seems to be minor and requires hours of rain to reveal itself.

It's possible that the initial rainwater from the fan last weekend was due to the vent being open before the rain started. I did have some issues where the fan door kept trying to close when it was already closed. There was also a lot of condensation on the interior window and wall surfaces due to there being four of us sleeping in the camper when it was cold and damp outside.

Just wondering if there are any known trouble spots to look for as far as where the water might be getting in. I saw two rivets on the roof that might be possible sources of trouble, but they did not seem like obvious leaks.

Is it likely that the water is coming from the window? from the roof above?

It could be both places. Water leaks are quite the challenge. Your trailer is now 10 years old and it is not surprising to find a small leak here or there.

Mine showed up at my back window. I inspected all the seams above and around the window. I could actually see where some of the caulk was breaking down. I got some Sikaflex from my dealer and started in on the project. Slowly I was able to stop the leaks. My window problem came down to the gasket around the window. I replaced that and haven't had a leak since.
Good Luck.

vent fan cover leak

our vent fan cover closes when it senses moisture, but not quite as firmly as when you shut it off and has leaked in that situation, but only once and it was a very heavy windy rain. When it shuts automatically try turning it off at the switch and see if it doesn't close just a little bit more, firmer.
