Home Depot

Hello, Does Home Depot offer any sealant that would work for sealing either interior or exterior?
Thanks for your help!

Sealmate aluminum color. I use it for exterior seams too.

Welcome to the Forums!

I have had the best luck with Trempro 635 Polyurethane. It is available from www.vintagetrailersupply.com, or sometimes Fastenal has it.

Whichever your choice, I would not use silicone of any kind.

You can find it at Home Depot in some areas. Also check some industrial supply houses. The one around here that usually has it in stock is Guaranteed Supply, I am sure there is a similar one where you live.

I have used a polyurethane based sealant made by PL and have good results. This product seems to be available at most "Big Box" HI stores...price is negligable in difference. Expect to pay $7-10 for a tube of polyurethane sealant of any type. Check with Fastenal, I believe they have some available as well. I, myself am a fan of Dymonic brand sealants...

I think both Home Depot and Lowes here stock Vulkem 116 gray.

I have never used this sealant, but it meets all the standards for a polyurethane sealant. I have used this sealant and I highly recommend it. It is sold at Home Depot as you were wondering.

The PL I have referred to is a "window and door" type...not the "conrete and masonry" type...although, it works well for that application...

Kool Seal

Aluminum Kool Seal is second to none. I think they sell it at Home Depot. I know Lowes used to carry it.....

Sooo..why not silicone? Now that I just finished using silicone to seal some holes of course...

silicon and aluminum do not mix well that's why.

In my never humble opinion, nothing works like Vulkem.

Vulkem is now Trempro 626. You cannot buy it at the box store. I don't know what those other Trempro numbers are, but the real stuff is 626. Fastenal is where I buy mine. As soon as you look at the tub it is all over your hands.
