I am re-caulking all exterior seams with Tempro on the new 72 International. On the plumbing vents, the exterior light housings, the 7-way plug housing there seems to have been gaskets.
I was thinking of making cork caskets (material from auto supply) then sealing with a bead of tempro.
Is there something better than cork or should I just make good bead of Tempro and attached the items back?
Some of the original sealant I am digging out is still pliable!
I think the plumbing vents should have a rubber like material not cork. The pipe may move around some and break the cork pretty quickly. You can get vent pipe gaskets from many vendors including Out of Doors Mart and Airstream dealers. Fairly inexpensive and fit well. Cork should be fine for the lights but I'd go for "rubber" material at all 3 points.

I would thing a EPDM, butyl, or some sort of more weather resistant material would be a better choice than cork a good flexible sealant should also work. Of course that's how I ended up here, looking to see what everyone uses for a sealant. I have sealed a lot of metal roofs and siding on houses but want to see if there is anything here that people favor aside from the Vulkem
