Found a ton of leaks! Glad I stripped it down
Well my wife and I finally got our interior completely stripped from our ‘59 Overlander and thank god we decided to pull every panel out. There are a ton of leaks showing through the body panel seams. I’m going to try my hardest to clean off all the black asphalt sealant and then use a scotch brute wheel on the grinder to clean up around the leaks. My plan currently is to seal all the seams on the inside with either Lexel or Sikaflex 221 and then cap every seam with Flex Seal spray. I’m hoping that will take care of the inside. On the outside I’m going to tape all exterior panel seams and use something to seal those up. I’ve read good things about Acryl-R (?) or even Lexel since it’s clear. Hope I’m on the right path here. I’d love to hear some feedback on our plan. Thanks y’all.
