This is the seal I purchased for my 1976 Tradewind. It was a match to the original and fits and seals well.

I had the same trouble as you finding photos of the product before and after install because I had some question about the orientation. I took some photos during the process so hopefully these will help, paired with the link above. The first photo shows the installation of the screen door seal but should give you some idea of the profile of the main door seal.

I did remove the clearcoat from the window frames & door frame where the gaskets go. Mostly so I was sure it would stick.
As far as the whole trailer goes. No I'm not going to polish it.
I've got way too much OCD. I'd never be able to enjoy it. I'd feel like I had to keep it perfect all the time.
Are you polishing the whole trailer?

I used the same open cell foam gasket material as pictured above on my screen door too.
Not the D shaped stuff.
Forgot that till i saw your pictures.

The double sided tape is not used as such.

Adhesive is applied to it and the door.

After about 5 minutes or so, the gasket is installed, with the seam at the bottom of the door. Then adhesive is applied to both seams and pushed together. That in effect gives you a seamless gasket.

Thousands of owners have used this type gasket, so don't worry about it, as it is the correct one.

I have a 2000 Bambi 19' and need an entry door gasket. Is the larger gasket (mentioned by Andy/Inland RV in the 10.18.2014 post) the correct gasket to use on my Bambi door? thanks,

Hi Les,

I have this week been in touch with Vintage Trailer Supply (VTS) who have told me that the old style seal they are having made and will be available later this year, but they never said a specific date. I have subscribed to the email alert for these seals. I tried the 'D' shaped seal that the other vendors are offering as the new replacement, but they are a bit smaller. I had to double up the seal on both the window/door and the corresponding aperture, and it still wasn't great, so now I'm waiting for VTS to make the new old seals.

I also tried a 10cmx10cm seal, and although it gave a very good seal on the window I tried it on, it was very tight and the door frame didn't like that size seal one bit...the door could not close.

If you have any luck finding any, let me know!

Dean, you may want to check out Vintage Trailer Gasket’s website. They’re located in Walnut, California. I have had good success with them. Good luck

This is what we used: https://highskyrvparts.com/new-airst...-gasket-365045

Fit in the groove in the door perfectly and makes a good seal. A bit tighter to close than I'd like, but after a few months it's slightly better. I also have the newer, smaller stuff and it just didn't do the job sealing nearly as well as this.
