This is the seal I purchased for my 1976 Tradewind. It was a match to the original and fits and seals well.

I had the same trouble as you finding photos of the product before and after install because I had some question about the orientation. I took some photos during the process so hopefully these will help, paired with the link above. The first photo shows the installation of the screen door seal but should give you some idea of the profile of the main door seal.

I did remove the clearcoat from the window frames & door frame where the gaskets go. Mostly so I was sure it would stick.
As far as the whole trailer goes. No I'm not going to polish it.
I've got way too much OCD. I'd never be able to enjoy it. I'd feel like I had to keep it perfect all the time.
Are you polishing the whole trailer?

I used the same open cell foam gasket material as pictured above on my screen door too.
Not the D shaped stuff.
Forgot that till i saw your pictures.
