Bathroom back splash leak
I need to resolve a bathroom back-splash leak source in our ‘05 30 ft. Classic and then repair or reconstruct the back-splash. Some background: Two years ago, I covered the back-splash surface (same material as the two bathroom side-walls) with wall paper. Recently, with significant signs of moisture behind it, I removed the wall paper, found the under-surface quite wet and the original material it was adhered to loosened. Looking under the sink I was surprised to find mouse fur with old, dry streaks there but (with head stuck under the counter and flashlight in mouth) no sign across the whole length of that hidden alcove that it had come loose or showed signs of fresh leaks. So I assume the loosened material above the counter and behind the backsplash was also mouse fur. My three-part question is: (1) where should I concentrate my search for the leak source? (2) should I consider removing all material across the back-splash right down to the interior aluminum (similar to the kitchen) and then either leave it as aluminum or choose a back-splash product that would adhere to the aluminum? And (3) what kind of backsplash material is recommended?. Thanks in advance!
