Back in the years before ducted air, we had crank-up antennas. Winegard made them then, and still sells them today. It's called the Sensar antenna, and it can pull in stations from 55 miles away on a clear day, if you are on a mountain top, with a direct line of sight

. Kidding aside, it is a good antenna.
The coax from the TV to the antenna comes up through the roof mount and is "protected" by a boot. My Airstream is a 2014, and as you can see in the photo, after 11 years the boot is wore out.
Winegard sells them on their website for about $4.50, but wants 4X that to ship it to you. You also have to cut the coax to install the new one and put a new connector on the coax to reconnect it to the antenna. All that is more than I want to pay or do to fix this.
I'm not too worried about roof leaks, as the sealant around the mount is good and there is a plug of sealant in the hole where the coax comes up from below. I had some leftover silicone caulk from a bathroom job I did, so I just added to the plug and stuck the pieces together. Hope that holds.
I'm curious to know if anyone else has addressed this issue and what their solution was.
