Airstream Sealer

Good day all. I am looking for someone to seal the exterior of my 31' classic trailer. it is due and i am not confident in doing it my self. Does anyone know of someone in the central florida area other than the stealerships. It would take months and months for them to do it. Any help appreciated.

To the best of my knowledge, no one, not even the famous P&S Trailer Service in Ohio, is stripping and recoating Airstreams. The original product, Plasticoat, is no longer manufactured and automotive clear coats don’t work.

I think the best you can hope for is someone who can strip the old coating off and slightly polish the exterior to a clean matte finish.

i probably worded it wrong. I meant the seas on the outside of the trailer to fill the seams with the not caulk but the appropropriate stuff to keep it from leaking. not ready to strip it down yet. Thanks for your reply though.

We sealed the seams on both our trailers. Seems like the most effective method to seal existing seams is with Captain Tolley’s seam sealer and cap with silver Parbond. CT wicks into the joint. Then we taped off each side of the joint leaving an 1/8” gap and caulked with Parbond. We slicked off the caulk with mineral spirits then removed the tape. If others agree you could hire a couple of high school kids to do the work on an hourly basis. You purchase the material. Using the tape allows a non-professional, like me, to do the job. Just a thought. Good luck
