2010 25 FB WATER LEAK! Questions on repair.
I have a 2010 25FB International and today almost 2 years exactly to the day of purchase I saw this........
Water Damage, Floor is soft and just ran out of Warranty. The leak is on the Back rear curbside near the under the dinette.
I called Airstream today and they said they will note to approve a belly removal.
So my question is...IF/when Airstream approves a repair......What does that entail? A complete removal of the laminate flooring? All the way to the front of the Stream? I know they will probably cut a section out and replace the wood floor.....If they do replace the Laminate flooring then maybe they can look for other leaks. What would be the turn around time for this kind of repair? Weeks Months?
I might take it to the mothership,,,but don't want to pay for a hotel for a week or longer.
Thanks for the advice and comments, in advance.
PLEASE, keep this topic ON topic. No bashing please. I would like this to as painless as possible....it already hurts.

That's a shame. I know how upsetting that must be. You can stay in the terraport each night after 4 p.m. and up until 7 the next morning. They will pull the AS out of the service bay and park it and pick it up each morning, if you choose that route. I always have and there are many others you will meet there staying over as well. It shouldn't take anything longer than a week or less I would guess. They work fast. Call Chris at JC and talk it over. There is no charge to stay in the terraport while being serviced. There is wi-fi and a lounge with tv and free coffee and cocoa, pets are also welcome and you can take the tour of the factory and also browse the store.

Not the end of the world. Ever been to Jackson center? Make the best of it and plan a camping trip to Ohio this spring. Hopefully they will know and fix the source(s) of the leak and you can share it with us.

Really no reason Airstream should allow this to happen
If I owned company and 3 went out door like this I would hire a specialist to go through all units and seal everything needed. Whats another $1000 or so, I bet it is belt line leaking or check front of unit under plastic guards for any entry point. If Lund,Starcraft can build leak free riveted boat hulls why not AS. If I was looking to purchase new I would have AS supply some sort water proof guarantee and that means changing how they build them at factory.

Make a fun trip and go back to back with Alumapalooza 2012 Rally at the factory the end of May or beginning of June. You'll meet so many Airstreamers and many from the forum, artists, vendors, musicians, celebrities and more! Airstream Life's Alumapalooza 2012 - RegOnline

Sounds good, and thank you. I have in my heart of hearts always wanted to go "home".....this sounds like a good reason. If I can take off work. We will see. I believe everything happens for a reason in life. I love my airstream and also understand,,,,these are made by hand,,,,in America and am proud to represent that.
Still wondering, though about the stained flooring. Do they replace the whole top floor to the bedroom or do they use the same flooring and just remove the stains.
Again, Thank you all.

I would unscrew vinyl flooring in your picture
The amp is pretty simple to remove blue remote wire hot when on, white ground, red hot. Cap those and tape up rca inputs. If table is out you should be able to pull little of floor up.

They may give you options on joining a seam and using or installing other flooring materials but I think they will just remove the attached lower furniture and run new flooring throughout. They can dissemble and reassemble Airstreams like a drill. It's fast, it's amazing. They know what they're doing and have plenty of experience and expertise and treat you very well in the process. You will enjoy it. You will be awestruck and I think you should take the trip to the mothership for all things Airstream! Book your service appointment early as they fill up quickly around Alumapalooza and for camping season.
I had an exterior storage door seal leak and they replaced the seal and they pulled the inner skin forward on the end cap to check for signs of leakage and it turned out to be condensation during winter camping. They added bubblewrap between the walls in that area to help insulate. We also had a rear pano window leak on another unit and though it was tricky (several attempts) to pinpoint, they were successful in stopping it. They also pulled the ceiling fabric down (Classics) and checked around the fantastic fan and examined and resealed exterior vents.
