Question Stove exhaust fan motor 76 Argosy

I have to admit I am having a hard time paying $75 for a fan motor that I may use 3 times in the next 5 years even if it goes for 30 to 40 years, I'll be dead or won't care.

I have the original and it's shot with a burnt wire that was rubbed through by a connector, so it can't be salvaged.

Does anyone have any alternatives beyond the Fasco motor?

Well, 12V fan motors are pretty widely available....

I've gotten all sorts of stuff from surpluscenter.com.

If you have a fasco part number, google could be your friend...

I'm pretty sure that's the same motor that goes in the stock roof vents. Maybe you can pick up a used roof vent motor.

Cheap DC motors are found most any where.

But, will the one you pick, last 34 years as the original one did? Very doubtful.

The cost many times for various parts, also reflect the quality. The better the quality, the higher the price.

The only problem with used DC motors, is that their end of life, might be around the corner.
