Arrow Solardome Repair

What a great forum, I don't post much, but I sure do read alot. My question: does anyone know what the white (now yellow) plastic is made of on the outside (center) of the older aluminum solardomes? Mine is on a 1978 Excella Int'l and has cracked and I want to repair it before winter. I see Andy has some new replacement types, but I'm not ready to replace them (at $$$$ X 3) just yet. I have checked some local plastics places without great results. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Kim

Post Solar Domes

I replaced two of the solar domes on my '73 I purchased them from Mr. Hare, Sonny is what they call him in Alabama. You might want to check out the prices there. I believe he was a little more reasonably priced. They are a piece of cake to replace. I have no mechanical inclination whatsoever, most of the time, but replaced the two and with no leaks. Just be sure to seal the inner square with weather striping, that Sonny sent with the domes. Good luck. I hope I helped you. Here is Trailer Repairs information...Mr. Hare....205.665.2531.

Sincerely,
