Can anyone tell me where to purchase skylights for my AS?

I'm replacing my cheap OEM skylight on my 2016. Go to Maximskylights.com. Click on Airstream skylights. These skylights have 3 layers of tint......... manufactured really well.

I second GLCMRANGER's comments.

I installed the Maxim skylights about four years ago -just no comparison to the original junk! Three layers of hail resistant polycarbonate installed in a welded aluminum frame.

IMHO a great investment if you plan to keep the AS for a while - they are understandably a bit more expensive but a totally different product and well worth it.

The factory is in Dallas and we picked our up there on a trip home from Tucson, shipping might be a bit costly as I suspect they have to be crated.

We just finished the installation of Maxim skylights in our '05. They are great, very pleased. They were shipped to us in Washington; very well packed in cardboard boxes. Not sure what the shipping cost was as it was included in the quoted price.

Did you install them yourself?

How difficult are they to install?

I also replaced the OEM plastic ones with Maxims. The hardest part is getting on the roof to measure your openings and then getting the old sealant off prior to installation. I got mine on here from Dustin (Dsaxon22) who ordered the "standard size" for Airstreams and they didn't fit his trailer but after some careful measurements I determined they would fit mine.

There are several threads on here about doing this job. One is:
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f455...hts-53517.html

Maxim's website has instructions on how to measure and order.

Yes, installed myself. Not too difficult as mentioned earlier. The thread listed above is a great resource.

Skylights

I have a 1969 Sovereign 31 ft. I'm in need of 2 new fans. Sounds like Maxims are the ticket. I also have a dome that needs to be replaced. Just pick up the old girl last week.
