Shorten crank on roof vent?

I've decided not to use the original light fixture in my 75 Trade Wind. Since I won't need the long crank on the vents I want to shorten them so we won't scrape our heads on them. Anyone know how I might do this? Without replacing the whole vent.

You might want to put it out there and ask if there's folks that want that crank screw, I don't think you can get them. I had to have a machine shope rebuild one that got old and worn and stripped. Heck I need some more myself.

If I find shorter cranks from someone I'd be happy to send you one of my long ones. Leave me a PM and I'll keep you posted.
