Roof Vents
We have a 1974 Overlander and the roof vents are in need of replacing or repair. Can someone tell me what brand name of vent was used during this era? Would like to keep the original vent if they are repairable, all the mechanisms work fine but the lid cover is in need of replacing.

Hi Tique and welcome. Try using the search function. There are sure to be many posts on the vent subject.

Lots of vintage owners are replacing their vents with Fantastic Fans. You should be able to get them to send you a cover. I have already sent mine out. But I do have another refurb that I'm going to do this summer and will have two more vintage vents. If you don't have your cover by then, remind me.

The vents were Hehr (sp?) What part of the cover is broken? Mine are aluminum with a piece of plexiglass riveted into the top of them. Eventually I will be replacing two of the them. One with a MaxAir the other with a Fantastic Fan.

You are much better off replacing with Lexan or some other plastic which is UV resistant. I am not sure if Aaron is using the term "plexiglass" genericly but it is a brand name and ordinary clear plastic will deteriorate quickly from UV.
