range vent fan

Recently purchased '85, 31' Limited. No owners manual. How do you turn on the fan above the stove. I can open the vent but no switch for the fan. Does it automatically turn on like the roof vents?

Don't know agout that model but two older trailer that I have owned have a lever on the side of the vent housing in the cabinet above the range. One direction closes the vent to keep air out and the other opens it. Push it to it's opening limit turns on the fan.

The fan should turn on when you open the cover using the lever. It may be a bad or misadjusted switch, or possibly a blown 12v fuse. Do you have anyother 12 volt items not working?
