quick & effective skylight insulation insert

Hello, it's unusually hot in Michigan - 95F +, and so I made a quick sunblocker panel for the skylight, which I'll redo and make a permanent accessory.

I cut a piece of rigid EPS house insulation to fit into the skylight ceiling frame, with a 1/4" allowance on all sides for self-adhesive multi-rib weather stripping around the perimeter (I should have allowed 5/16"). The friction holds the panel in place quite nicely.

I"l redo it with a bit more care when I get the time, and paint it white to match the ceiling. But for now, it's doing what is needed.

It seems to work. I poked a thermometer through the EPS - it's 155F above the EPS, and 83F below it. Hmm, is there a potential problem with trapping that heat above the foam / below the plastic glazing?
