Personally, I have done my learning the hard way. Often it was through foolish mistakes. Some of those mistakes bring a smile to my face now. Karma to you for your honesty, and KHARMA to you for your honor.

So Rob, you don't happen to have a spare piece of rub rail for a '73, do you? About 3 feet will do. I'll bid $10 right here and now if'n ya got one.

Hi, I would also like to say that the main reason sellers have auctions is that people get absessed while bidding, to win, and tend to over bid on everything. I personally don't like auctions and try to do my home work before joining in. (ie) The banks decided it would work in their favor to hold auctions on recently foreclosed homes versus just selling them. "Bidder beware."

Than on the REAL auctions if the item gets no bid, the auctioneer lowers starting bid.

Look at this

Airstream Life back issue - sold for $48... the Ebay market is crazy - the whole - "It's mine when you bid... and someone taking it from you so you bid again..." that's why the No Reserve auctions work better in my mind...

Imagine seeing this auction with a Buy It Now of $45? unbelieveable.

funny thing about that Airstream life, I bought it and 7 others from the source for less.... that seller is a rat.... I say do not buy from_______. You fill in the blank. It is your money folks, how you spend it is your choice. I would give you more karma if I could. By the way, the packing material had better be good, I do not want my porch light damaged when it arrives....

I don't know if there are others. This could be the same robandzoe who tried to give away a project Argosy in a raffle. Rob's cool. That or else my recall isn't what I recall.

Should I?

Rob

Gee...I've got two originals that came with two of my older trailers. Hmmmm...maybe I'll buy the $16.95 models to use on my trailer and put the originals away to save to liquidate when I retire.

I like 62overlander's word "gooderer". It is the word I would use for this thread, since everyone has had time to settle down, and realize that Rob is a real asset to the Airstream forums comunity.
Thanks Rob for the parts, help, and friendship.

Now that is a funny ad! The seller tells you that he paid $16.95 for the lamp he is selling with a starting bid of $99. He also includes a link to the store he bought it from.

He does state that he needs the money to restore his trailer.

You have to wonder if someone will bid on it.
