MaxXFan

My MaxXFan is about 2 years old and only works (for 30 sec) on the first speed. This fan has 4 speeds, and when I switch from speed 1 to speed 2 (or 3 or 4), the fan shuts off completely. I sent an email to MaxXFan about this issue but have not yet heard back. I’d appreciate any insight on what the problem may be, and how to fix it. Thank you!!

Hi Phillippe,

Probably the control board. Here is a link to a thread with information and also more links in the thread to others. Main controller issues are caused by: overvoltage (more than 13.5 volts) and, possibly condensation and dirt on the control board. Many of us have taken steps to control both but the consensus is that the Maxfan is the best fan to have so we keep repairing them. https://www.airforums.com/forums/f45...ml#post2773453

You might consider swapping to the 6200 Maxxair fan. It likely uses your same mount so four screws on the roof and it pops off.

The 6200 has a more modern control system and intelligent 10 speed fan. I’ve found the four speed versions keep blowing out, especially on lithium with its related higher voltage.
