How to clean fiberglass solardome?

Hello folks,

I'm looking for advice on how to safely clean the exterior of my original fiberglass solardome on '59 Tradewind. It's in dire need of cleaning but I don't want to damage it. It really sticks out now that I'm polishing. Any suggestions? I would like to clean it without having to remove it.

Thanks.

An answer that you don't want to read, is replace the cover.

Old fiberglass that has weathered is vertually impossible to make "like new."

And, if you could better it's look, the amount of light that passes through it, is near nothing.

Replacement covers are available, in milk white and solar gray, that do allow light to enter, and, look sharp as well.

Gee, mine looked a lot better than yours, but when I touched it, it crumbled.

Hi Andy,

I actually purhased a solardome from you a few months ago for another Airstream but never got around to installing it. I guess I will put it to use now.

Thanks.
