HERH Operator Screw
I have to remove the operators to remove the windows on my 64 Overlander- I have encountered a screw head I have never seen before and need to find the name, to find the screwdriver. Here is the best picture I could get

Great photo, I hate having to get a close-in shot like that. They are alway blurred for me too.
Now, on to your question. Using my psycho-mechanic's powers of sight, that is what is called a clutch-head screw, it should be an oval, with the long sides flattened. You should be able to get a bit, if not the whole screwdriver, from your local home improvement warehouse.
Good luck with it, and when you are done, could you send the tool to me? I need it, too. I am just too cheap to go out and get one, yet.

It is the reverse of the head on a GM Quadrajet carbuerator jet adjuster.

Those were quite commonly used in mobile homes at one time. If you have trouble finding one you might try a Mobile Home parts store.

Trailer Girl,
See the post at;
http://www.airforums.com/forum...ht=clutch+head
Please do not trash the screws, they are almost irreplacable.
The tool you need is;
Evco C-3 driver, or
Evco 5/32 000C3 bit

Yep, got those on our rig. I don't know the proper name, they used them on vending machines too. I took a old regular screwdriver and slowly ground it down to the right size to make it fit. Not that hard to do.

Jason,
Did you reinstall the screws? If not, do you still have them?

Keith,
Yes, I reinstalled them. You may find them in the specialty drawers at a better (older type) hardware store. Also check Blaine window ( www.blainewindow.com) they may carry them, I ordered their free catalog (which is at home, I'm at work), they carry plenty of replacement parts. Hope this helps...

Clutch Head Screw
Thanks to everyone for the help- I have ordered the clutch head bits, instead of a full screwdriver when it arrives I will post the size
When they come out I will check the Fastenall shop here and see if they have replacements- because one day I will lose the screws or the bits! I will replace with a standard phillips if I can and offer these up for someone doing a restoration. I want to fix it right, but non-original is OK. And I 'd like to see someone get these if they really need them

Trailer Girl,
I would certainly appreciate it if I could take you up on the offer for the old clutch-head screws. Let me know, and I'll send you the postage.
