Head scratcher...

I'm in the process of ceiling fan/s remove and replace. The forward fan died. Forum advice favors Maxx fans for some good reasons. I've removed both fantastic fans. Both have rain sensors connected with fine black wires, but different wiring from each other . A black and white pair provide the power to both fans. But the rear fan has a pair of orange wires also that exit near the sensor.
Before I get the meter out and start chasing wires/circuit breakers, have any of you seen what I'm describing? Got an idea of what they're doing in that fan? Since Maxx fans have only the black/white pair, should my orange wires be joined or nutted separately?

Model number of old fans matter. There may be two different models there. Post model number for better advice.

You're right, Paul... but why?

Yep, different models. We bought ours new in2002, so fans are original. The
back one required different wiring. Perhaps my wiring diagrams may offer a reason. In any case, the replacement fans use only a bl/wh pair of wires.
... and, edit...

the back fan thermostat is/can be controlled from the bedroom wall (thus the extra wires).

The remaining question is, what's the preferred way to render them inoperative?

Sorry, I missed that.

I can't find installation instructions for that model. Possibly they came with the trailer. Contact a dealer.

We're Maxxfan owners now

Remove and replace is now complete. Big improvement over the originals... quiet, .02 - 2.4A draw from 10-100% power selected, controlled by remotes. Spouse is pleased (never a bad thing ).
