Fantastic Fan - New Clear Cover

Hi.
Yea, just beat the rain!
When I looked up at the old cover I could see hairline cracks. So rather than wait for a failure I ordered a new CLEAR cover from Amazon. I like to see the stars in my tiny-skylight. At the moment I see rain drops. Anyhow other than getting on the roof it's really easy. Open the cover a couple of of inches. (4) screws on the front edge. Slide cover back until you can release the lifting arm from the slot and it's off. Clean things up. And install new cover reverse of above. Probably took an hour and most of that was cleaning up the fan from the roof. Old cover was dark blue.
Happy Travels!

You should probably watch a few U-Tube videos. Search ( getting on an airstream roof ). Colonial Airstream has a couple of good videos. Basically always keep your weight on the ribs running side to side. They are easy to see as there is a line of rivets on top. At least on my Airstream rivits running front to back dont seem to have support under them. So don't put your weight on rivets running front to back. It's not that hard, just mostly being careful and aware. But it's not easy to repair a roof dent once you've put your knee in the wrong place...
Happy Travles!

I have two spares (replaced mine factory covers with double panes covers). You can have them if you pay shipping. PM me.

Anyway, it’s an easy replacement. Open vent, remove four screws, carefully remove from metal opening arm, and install new unit. I found it best to leave the four screws slightly loose during the initial close so the cover can align properly, then tighten the screws.
