Any downside to Ultrabreeze vent cover
I can think of lots of reasons to install an ultrabreeze vent cover - mainly the ability to have a vent/fan open in the rain.
Other than (perhaps) an affect on gas mileage, it there any downside to adding a vent cover?

Hi
If there is wind along with the rain, a cover may not be 100% effective. If the objective is to leave things open and running while you are away from the trailer - that may be an issue.

I added the same earlier this year so that I can vent the coach while it is raining. Can not think of a downside which commonsense will not overcome.

I've added Fantastic Ultra Breeze covers to both of my trailers.
Now I can tow with the lid open and fan running when needed, rain or shine. Even a pouring down rain, not a drip inside.
I've also been in the trailer with the fans running in a tropical storm with 60+mph wind and driving rain with no leaks.
There no noticeable affect on fuel economy.
IMO, there is no down side, other than they cost too much.

Vent cover will eliminate light entering the standard cover. I’ve used them for many years and being able to vent during rain is great!

I like mine too. They may save the vents if it hails. They do make you take a second look to make sure the vent is opened or closed the way you want it.

We have had Ultrabreeze vent covers on both of our fans for 3 seasons - 15 K miles towing - really no downside - they allow fan vent to remain open during rain and storms - no leaks Easy install and removal for cleaning

Fantastic Fan Covers
We have them on both of our fans. Love Them. My fans must have had extra sensitive rain sensors as they would close up and turn off fan at the hint of any moisture even after we installed covers. I called Manufacturer and nice lady told me how to disconnect sensors. Takes maybe 10 minutes per fan. Now we can leave our Airstream for the day with both open and one on low for airflow. No rain has ever come in. I installed these myself and that takes maybe 20/25 minutes per fan. Highly recommend. Make sure you purchase the "Bug Screen" option for covers. It is separate and are about $15.00 each. I think we paid about $50.00 each for covers in May 2017.
