Wooden Framed Windows - Unheard of?!?

Newbies here, our gutted a/s patiently waiting in the yard for us to get going full throttle on our renovation.

We are outside the box thinkers, in the planning/imagining phase, and had the wild idea to put in wood framed windows (we are planning to put in all new opening windows).

Thing is, I've googled and googled and cannot find a SINGLE a/s with wood framed windows online. It seems like it just isn't done. Is there a particular reason? Have any of y'all seen anything like that?

Thanks!

Amelia and Tiffany

So...the one single thing that is the absolute plague of all Airstreams is rot in the wooden floors. These are floors that aren't even supposed to be exposed to water. The trailer you are imagining wooden windows in probably already has rot in the floor.

Now, the other difficulty in replacing your windows is that your walls aren't flat. So unless you want to build a custom wood framed window with custom made glass, all with a curve to match the side of your trailer, and then do it all again on all of your windows in a few years when they warp or rot, you should probably look for other ways to make your trailer your own.

I don't mean to sound so discouraging, but an AS trailer is a special little universe all its own. A universe where the shape of the trailer dictates an awful lot about how things fit. It is an ongoing battle to keep your trailer from leaking, and replacing functional windows with anything short of a submarine's (curved) porthole will be wasted effort.
