Window replacement

We had a major hail storm last week in Okc. I have multiple window damage. Need to know how to take the window out and put in replacement without any further damage to the trailer. Does anyone have suggestions or experience in this matter?

Window replacement

In some of the trailers built before 1965, the windows are flat and can be replaced with window glass you can buy at the local hardware store. I usually take the frame out of the trailer to work on it laying flat, but it can be done directly on the trailer by just pulling out the retaining extruded plastic profiles. 1965 and later require different procedures and sources of glass depending on the year.

Thanks for the tip. What is involved in taking the frame out. Is this something that can be done without pop rivits?

You have to be a little more specific.

Different years of Airstreams, do many different things.

Knowing the year of your coach (Airstream-Argosy) will very help you to get an answer.

I know "how high is up" is 2 times half the distance, but that doesn't work in your case.

Windows for your Airstream are available at most any hardware store.

Simply provide them the dimensions.

Window replacement

Have a related problem with a 1976 Sovereign I just purchased, the curb side bedroom window, 30" is shattered, can you get just the glass to replace without getting the whole window? Thanks

Airstream will not sell just the glass.

You will have to purchase a medium curved window (glass and sash) for that year, but you must specify if the window lift arms are regular or deluxe. The deluxe arms have two knobs on the "T" handles.

Report the loss to your insurance company.

Do not be surprised if a delivery date of 4 to 6 weeks is offered, as Airstream keeps a little to no inventory on the glass from 1969 up to about 1984 or so.
