Window handle set screws

On my 2012, all of the window lifting lever handles came without set screws. After trips to hardware stores in numerous locations I finally found that 6-32 coarse setscrews fit. But when I tried to install the screws, I found that tightening the setscrew lifted the threaded fitting out of the handle as it is only a press fit.
Anybody else resolve this issue?
Larry

You just discovered why Airstream didn't bother with screws to begin with. They're all that way. Best fix is to buy the metal knobs offered by Vintage Trailer Supply.

I also found that set-screws don't really work; so I glued then on using 'cyano-acrylinate-ester. (Crazy Glue.) /seemed to work so far.
